The Capital One Cup Final at Wembley on 24 February 2013 is an important event for the city of Bradford – Bradford City FC are the first team from the fourth tier to appear in a League Cup final since 1962. We are proud of their recent successes and in support of our local team and to win an opportunity to visit Bradford City’s home ground at Valley Parade, Mr Hall is running two competitions for children at Newby.
Children from Year 1 to 4 are invited to design a poster that will encourage more people to go and watch Bradford City play at Valley Parade. Poster designs need to be bright, bold and eye-catching and include facts and reasons for why people should go to their local club to watch a match.
Children in Year 5 and 6 are required to design and write a persuasive leaflet that will also encourage the local community to get behind Bradford City and watch a game or two at Valley Parade. The children are to include facts and opinions about Bradford City, reasons to go and watch a game and persuasive words and phrases to make their leaflet bold and eye-catching.
Closing date for entries (to be handed in to the class teacher) is Thursday 14 February. If any child requires paper to complete their designs, then they may get this from Miss Stephenson.
15 winners will travel with Mr Hall by minibus on Tuesday 26 February to Valley Parade where they will be taken on a guided tour of Bradford City’s grounds.
Best of luck to competition entrants, and of course, Bradford City for their Wembley fixture!
